Amherst, N.Y. (WBEN) - The University at Buffalo Women's Basketball team captured the program's first WNIT title with an 88-84 victory over the Troy Trojans at Alumni Arena Saturday.

With one of the best starts in program history, head coach Becky Burke led the Bulls to their first championship under Burke.

This marks the first time the Bulls are playing games in the month of April, it is also the 37th game of the 2024-25 season which is the most in program history.

Down by 10 points 44-34 heading into halftime, this was nothing new for the Bulls after making several come from behind victories this season. The Bulls were led by their leader Chellia Watson leading all scorers with 23 points.

Down by only three points heading into the fourth quarter Kirsten Lewis-Williams played a huge role in the Bulls win with 18 points including the game clinching steal that sent her to the free throw line giving the Bulls an 88-84 win over Troy.

With the win this marks the first time in program history the Bulls finish with 30 wins in a season.
