The Buffalo Bills schedule has officially been released for a few weeks now. Buffalo looks to win five straight AFC East titles for the first time in franchise history. The road back to another division title will be tough. Many key pieces are gone from the 2023 Bills. But the main driver of this Bills team is still here. Josh Allen still under center for the Bills is what will keep this team in contention for the Super Bowl for years to come. With winning the AFC East again, the Bills will also face a first place schedule, the Bills crossover with the NFC is the NFC North and will be playing the Detroit Lions. The Bills will be tangling with Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, this time Mahomes will be making his third trip to Buffalo adding to the already challenging schedule for the Buffalo Bills.
Week 1 Home Arizona Cardinals: It’s the home opener for the Bills, the Cardinals were one of the worst teams in the NFL last season. Even with Kylar Murray back under center and Marvin Harrison Jr. as his new weapon. The Bills defense knows how to lock down top wide receivers and I expect this to be an easy Week 1 for the Bills starting off the season 1-0.
Week 2 @ Miami Dolphins Thursday Night: Got a little bit tougher in Week 2 going down south. Not happy that the Miami trip is this early in the season, but at least the game will take place at night where the heat won’t be a dominating factor like it has in the past. I still need to see it to believe it that the Dolphins can beat Josh Allen. Allen has owned the Dolphins and even has only lost to Miami twice. This will be a close game but the Bills are the better team and will win on Thursday Night Football.
Week 3 Home Jacksonville Jaguars Monday Night Football: Over the past few meetings Jacksonville has had Buffalo’s number. Whether that is because they had injury luck or time changes in London. This time it won’t matter the Bills will have the rest that they need from their extended bye week it will be another close game because Jacksonville is not a team to be messed with missing the postseason by only one game.
Week 4 @ Baltimore Ravens Sunday Night Football: This is the toughest challenge so far for the Bills, but they have always had Lamar Jackson’s number. The last time the Bills faced Baltimore they held Jackson to only 144 yards passing and two interceptions. I think the Bills are going to start off 4-0 with a win over Baltimore.
Week 5 @ Houston Texans: All good things must come to an end. The Bills will take their first loss of the season. CJ Stroudt will have a plethora of weapons to work with in the offense. As of right now the Texans look more dangerous on offense and the Bills will fall to 4-1.
Week 6 @ New York Jets: After a tough loss to the Texans, it’ll be two in a row for the Bills. For some weird reason the Bills have had bad luck against the Jets at MetLife Stadium. Aaron Rodgers could be a factor and the Bills will drop their second game.
Week 7 Home Tennessee Titans: After a tough couple weeks the Titans will not be able to hold with the Bills and even with L'Jarius Sneed the offense will be on track and Dalton Kincaid will have a day on offense.
Week 8 @ Seattle Seahawks: Probably one of the most exciting trips for Bills fans traveling to Seattle in October. With the Bills offense getting better the Bills will get a win over a tough NFC foe, getting back on track after the two losses.
Week 9 Home Miami Dolphins: Back in Buffalo Josh (Allen) has not lost to Miami at home and it is not stopping now and the Bills will sweep their series with Miami again.
Week 10 @ Indianapolis Colts: Anthony Richardson will be a challenge because of his running ability if he is able to stay healthy this year. They are still not on the level that the Bills are. And we’ve seen Josh Allen thrive when he plays indoors so this will be another win for the Bills.
Week 11 Home Kansas City Chiefs: The rematch that could end up deciding home field if these two teams meet in the playoffs again. Allen has dominated Mahomes in the regular season, but Mahomes and the offense will get the best of Bills. We have seen on multiple occasions that the defense has not been able to stop the Chiefs. The Bills will head into the bye week with a tough loss to Kansas City.
Week 12 Bye Week:
Week 13 Home San Francisco 49ers: After a tough loss to the defending Super Bowl champions. The Bills take on the team that was also in the Super Bowl. So far the Bills have not had success this season against Super Bowl contenders. But we have seen in the past the Bills under Sean McDermott are undefeated coming off a bye week. The Bills will get a much needed confidence booster winning a close game to the 49ers.
Week 14 @ Los Angeles Rams: Heading on the road no Aaron Donald to deal with. The Bills will get another NFC win over the Rams. I think that the offense by this time will find its groove and it will be a close game. Puka Nucua or Cooper Kupp will have a great game. But the Bills will get the win in a close game.
Week 15 @ Detroit Lions: I think that the Lions are the best team in the NFC and could make a push at the Super Bowl. It will be a tough loss for the Bills but it won’t be a blow out. I expect a close game but the Lions having home field advantage will get the win
Week 16 Home New England Patriots: Getting towards the end of the season the Patriots might have already had Drake Maye starting for them. The rookie will face tough stretches and Sean McDermott has been shown to have the advantage with rookie quarterbacks.
Week 17 Home New York Jets: The home finale the Bills will bounce back to split the series with New York and should have already secured a playoff spot by now.
Week 18 @ New England Patriots: Going into the final week of the season the Bills will most likely be playing for seeding in the playoffs. The Bills will still have the starters play and sweep the series with New England.
In the first edition of Evan picks the Bills, I have the Bills finishing with a record of 13-4.
